About

The History of Rock Springs Run State Reserve

The first property to become Rock Springs Run State Reserve was purchased in March 1983 for habitat preservation and watershed protection and to provide recreational opportunities in the Central Florida area. Additional purchases in 1991 and 1995 have formed a vast natural area in Orange and Lake counties.

Rock Springs

Rock Springs Run is an 8-mile river that forms the boundary between Wekiwa Springs State Park and Rock Springs Run State Reserve. Rock Springs Run eventually flows into the Wekiva River, which then runs 15 miles and empties into the St. Johns River. The Wekiva River Basin includes Wekiwa Springs Run, Rock Springs Run, the Wekiva River, Blackwater Creek and Seminole Creek. These waterways are the first congressionally designated National Wild and Scenic River basin in Florida.

Arden Tilghman, P3 Founder/CEO

After spending several years climbing the corporate ladder in positions of senior management among multi-million dollar enterprises, P3’s founder, Arden Tilghman, began to see and believe in the power of doing business with an approach focused not only on bottom line profits, but of an overall positive impact on everything it touches.

We are often asked what the “P3” stands for. We aim to conduct our business with a triple bottom line approach. Our company’s impact on People, Profit, and Planet are all of equal importance. We govern ourselves in a way that is beneficial to all people we impact, is financially profitable, and aims to leave a positive impact on the planet.
