How well do the A/Cs work?
Our A/C and heating units are 12,000 BTU mini-splits. They are very powerful and make a big difference in temperature. That being said, the tents are not insulated buildings. You can expect a 10–20 degree difference in temperature inside your tent from the outside temperature.
During the summer, the tents get quite cool in the evening after the sun goes down, offering a comfortable night’s sleep. The A/C is least effective during the long afternoons.
For guests who get particularly chilly in cold weather, we recommend bringing an extra blanket during the winter months to snuggle up with at night.
Are the sites ADA accessible?
The sites are not ADA accessible, but each site does have a ramp access on the front porch.
The parking area is anywhere from 50 yards to 90 yards from the tents. The path from the parking area to the tents is relatively level grass walkways.
Where are the bathrooms?
The bathrooms are a 20–50 yard walk from the tents on a relatively level grass walkway. There is one bathhouse that is shared among the campsites.
The bathhouse has separate men’s and women’s sides, each with toilets, showers, and sinks.
The bathhouse has hot water.
Do I need to worry about bears?
Worry — NO. Be AWARE of — YES. Florida Black Bears are very shy, particularly in state park settings where they are not crowded around people in urban surroundings. Food and trash should always be taken immediately to the bear-proof dumpsters or locked and stored in vehicles. Bears, along with raccoons and ants, will take advantage of unattended food.
Can I bring my own horses with me to the park?
Yes! The Glampsites offer spacious stall rentals for guests staying overnight.
Are dogs allowed at the glamping sites?
Dogs are allowed at the Glamping Sites. Max of 2 dogs. Pet fee of $30/pet per night applies. Dogs may not be left unattended and must always be kept on a leash.
